BizConet respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal data lawfully, fairly, securely, and transparently. This Privacy Policy explains how Bizconet Digital Solutions, (9682470), trading as “BizConet”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal data.
Questions or requests about this Policy or your personal data may be sent to contact@bizconet.com.
1. Scope of this Policy
This Policy applies when you:
visit or interact with bizconet.com or a BizConet landing page;
submit an enquiry, assessment, onboarding, checkout, or support form;
purchase a Visibility Check, BizAlerts plan, custom service, or another BizConet product;
receive BizConet reports, tasks, reminders, content, emails, or support;
join an email list or other communication channel operated by BizConet; or
otherwise provide personal data to BizConet.
It does not govern a third-party website, platform, or service that has its own privacy policy, even if BizConet links to or integrates with that service.
2. Our role
BizConet is generally the data controller for personal data collected directly through its website, forms, checkouts, customer communications, and service delivery. This means BizConet determines why and how that data is processed.
Where a client gives BizConet personal data about the client’s customers, staff, or contacts for a custom service, the parties’ agreed scope may make the client the controller and BizConet a processor. The client must have a lawful basis and authority to provide that data.
3. Personal data we collect
The data we collect depends on how you interact with us and may include:
3.1 Identity and contact data
Your name, business or trading name, job title, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, country, city, and contact preferences.
3.2 Business and onboarding data
Your website and social-media links, business category, target audience, products or services, location, brand information, goals, challenges, offers, preferred channels, content themes, and answers supplied in an assessment or onboarding form.
3.3 Payment and subscription data
The product or plan selected, price, currency, transaction reference, payment status, payment date, subscription status, renewal date, refunds, disputes, and identifiers supplied by our payment provider. Card and bank details are collected and handled by the payment provider. BizConet does not ordinarily receive or store your full payment-card number or security code.
3.4 Service and activity data
Reports generated for you, scheduled tasks, reminders, weekly plans, monthly activity summaries, content drafts, content calendars, feedback, delivery status, support history, and records of actions you mark as completed.
3.5 Public online-presence data
For services such as Visibility Check, we may review information that a business has made publicly available, including websites, public business listings, search results, maps listings, directory profiles, public social-media pages, reviews, contact information, and publicly visible content.
3.6 Communications
Emails, messages, support requests, survey responses, testimonials submitted with permission, and other communications with BizConet.
3.7 Technical and usage data
Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, dates and times, cookie identifiers, form events, approximate location derived from an IP address, security logs, and diagnostic information.
3.8 Marketing preference data
Your decision to receive or decline promotional email, your communication preferences, and records needed to honor an unsubscribe or opt-out request.
Please do not provide passwords, payment-card details, health information, government identification numbers, or other sensitive personal data through ordinary BizConet forms or prompts unless we specifically request it through an appropriate secure process.
4. How we obtain personal data
We obtain data:
directly from you when you use our website, forms, checkout, email, or support channels;
from an authorized representative of your business;
from Paystack and other service providers involved in a transaction or service;
from public websites, search engines, directories, maps, and public social profiles when preparing a visibility or business report; and
automatically through cookies, logs, and similar technologies, subject to applicable consent requirements.
If you provide personal data about another person, you confirm that you are authorized to do so and have given that person any notice required by law.
5. Why we use personal data and our lawful bases
We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis. Depending on the circumstances, our purposes and lawful bases include:
Purpose | Typical lawful basis |
Responding to an enquiry and taking steps before a purchase | Contract or steps requested before a contract; legitimate interests |
Processing an order, creating an account or subscriber record, and delivering a report or subscription | Performance of a contract |
Processing payments, renewals, refunds, and billing support | Performance of a contract; legal obligation |
Personalizing tasks, plans, reports, and content using onboarding data | Performance of a contract; legitimate interests in delivering a useful service |
Reviewing public online-presence information for a requested Visibility Check | Performance of a contract; legitimate interests, balanced against individual rights |
Providing customer support and service notices | Performance of a contract; legitimate interests |
Preventing fraud, misuse, and security incidents | Legitimate interests; legal obligation where applicable |
Keeping accounting, tax, legal, and transaction records | Legal obligation; legitimate interests in establishing or defending legal claims |
Analyzing performance and improving our services | Legitimate interests; consent where required for non-essential cookies or similar technology |
Sending promotional messages | Consent, or legitimate interests where the law permits and an easy opt-out is provided |
Complying with lawful requests, court orders, and regulatory duties | Legal obligation or public interest |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the necessity of the processing and its impact on your rights. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal and does not prevent processing required for a contract or legal duty.
6. Automated tools and artificial intelligence
BizConet uses automation and may use artificial-intelligence tools to help organize onboarding information, scan public business information, draft observations or content, schedule deliveries, and generate reports or action plans.
These tools can produce incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate results. Visibility reports are point-in-time assessments based on available inputs and public information. Content and recommendations should be reviewed before use. We do not use a BizConet Visibility Check or content-generation result to make a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects about an individual without appropriate safeguards and human review.
Do not place confidential credentials, highly sensitive personal data, or information you are not authorized to share into an AI prompt, onboarding form, or content request. You may contact contact@bizconet.com to ask for an explanation or human review of a materially disputed automated output.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use:
strictly necessary cookies for security, checkout, form submission, preferences, and core website operation;
analytics cookies to understand website usage and improve performance; and
marketing cookies or pixels to measure campaigns or personalize advertising, if enabled.
Where consent is required, non-essential cookies will not be activated until you choose to accept them. You may reject non-essential cookies or change your preferences through the cookie controls, where available. You may also change browser settings, although blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website or checkout from working.
Our actual cookie banner and cookie list should be updated whenever website tools or advertising pixels change.
8. Payments
Payments are processed by Paystack or another payment provider identified at checkout. The provider may collect payment-card, bank, device, identity, fraud-prevention, and transaction data under its own terms and privacy notices. BizConet normally receives only the transaction and subscription information needed to confirm payment, deliver the service, reconcile accounts, handle support, and prevent fraud.
Paystack may act as BizConet’s service provider for some processing and may have independent legal obligations for payments, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and regulatory compliance. You should review the privacy information displayed by Paystack during checkout.
9. When we share personal data
We may disclose personal data only as reasonably necessary to:
payment providers, banks, and fraud-prevention partners, including Paystack;
website hosting, domain, form, database, cloud-storage, email, and productivity providers, including Google services used for administration and delivery;
communications providers, including email, SMS, or WhatsApp providers where that channel is offered;
analytics, security, automation, and approved AI service providers;
contractors and professional advisers who are subject to appropriate confidentiality or data-protection duties;
courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, tax authorities, or other parties where disclosure is legally required or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security; and
a buyer, investor, or successor in connection with a genuine merger, reorganization, financing, or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We may use or share aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual.
10. International data transfers
Some service providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we will use a lawful transfer mechanism and reasonable safeguards required by applicable data-protection law. These may include an adequacy decision, contractual safeguards, necessity for the requested service, or explicit consent where appropriate. You may contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
11. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including service delivery, security, dispute resolution, and legal, accounting, or regulatory duties. Our standard retention guide is:
enquiries and incomplete onboarding records: generally up to 12 months after the last interaction;
active subscriber profiles, service records, reports, content, and delivery history: for the relationship and generally up to 24 months after it ends;
transaction, invoice, tax, refund, and accounting records: generally six years, or longer where the law requires;
website, delivery, security, and diagnostic logs: generally up to 12 months, unless needed for an investigation;
marketing records: until you unsubscribe or we stop the campaign, while retaining only the minimum suppression record needed to honor your opt-out; and
complaints, disputes, and legal records: for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the matter and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We may keep data longer where required by law, a regulator, a court order, fraud prevention, or an unresolved dispute. When retention is no longer necessary, we will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of the data. De-identified statistical information may be retained longer where it cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the size and nature of our operations. These may include access controls, account authentication, restricted administrative permissions, encryption in transit, backups, secure payment processing, staff or contractor confidentiality duties, and monitoring for misuse.
No internet or storage system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your own email account, device, payment account, and any link or credentials sent to you. Please notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or receive a suspicious message claiming to be from BizConet.
If a personal-data breach occurs, we will investigate and notify affected persons and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission where notification is required by law.
13. Your data-protection rights
Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may have the right to:
be informed about how your personal data is used;
request access to personal data we hold about you;
request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
request deletion of personal data in appropriate circumstances;
request restriction of processing;
object to processing based on legitimate interests;
object at any time to direct marketing;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
request portable data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format where applicable;
receive information about relevant automated decision-making and request appropriate human review; and
complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or another competent regulator.
To exercise a right, email contact@bizconet.com with the subject Privacy Request. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect your data. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. A request may be limited or refused where the law permits, for example where retention is required by law or the request would adversely affect another person’s rights.
You may also contact the Nigeria Data Protection Commission through https://ndpc.gov.ng. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first, but this does not limit your right to approach the Commission.
14. Marketing communications
Service messages—such as receipts, report delivery, renewal notices, security alerts, or account changes—are necessary to provide or administer a service and are not marketing opt-ins.
Where you choose to receive marketing, you may unsubscribe using the link in an email or by contacting contact@bizconet.com. Opting out of marketing will not stop essential service communications for an active order or subscription.
15. Children
BizConet’s paid services are intended for adults and authorized business representatives aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect a child’s personal data without appropriate authorization or consent required by law. If you believe a child has provided data to us improperly, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
16. Third-party links and public platforms
Our website, reports, and content may link to third-party websites, social platforms, directories, maps, booking services, or communication tools. Those parties control their own services and privacy practices. Review their terms and privacy notices before submitting data to them.
17. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our services, technology, providers, or legal duties. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Where a change materially affects how previously collected data is used, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
